This is the classic itinerary to discover Tibetan culture and beautiful sceneries. Visit all Lhasa main sites and visit multiple natural sceneries like sacred Yamdrok Lake & karo glacier with beautiful views of Mt. Everest and even get to Everest Base Camp. You'll also see the holy Namtso Lake - second largest alpine saline lake in Tibet, 4718 meters above sea level. 🤩

⛰ Everest Base Camp - You will spend one night at EBC! From there, you will have the best view on Mt. Everest, the highest mountain in the world!
🏞 Yamdrok Lake - It is a freshwater lake in Tibet, also one of the three largest sacred lakes in Tibet. The lake is surrounded by many snow-capped mountains and is fed by numerous small streams.
🧊 Namtso Lake - It is the "Heavenly Lake" which is one of the four holy lakes of Tibet and also the highest salt lake.
ITINERARY

Day 1
Welcome to Tibet! Whether you arrive by train or flight, your friendly Tibetan guide will greet you with a Hada — the traditional ceremonial scarf — and warm blessings. You’ll then be driven* to your hotel in downtown Lhasa. On the way, enjoy the first views of the Yarlung Tsangpo River (Brahmaputra), the longest and largest river in Tibet. After checking in, take time to rest and adjust to the high altitude. If you feel like going out, you can walk to Potala Square and get amazing photos of the Potala Palace and its surroundings.

Day 2
Today is all about Tibetan monasteries — a deep dive into Buddhist learning and monastic life. In the morning, visit Drepung Monastery, once home to over 10,000 monks and the largest monastery in Tibet. As you explore the Coqen Hall, your guide will share insights into Tibetan Buddhist philosophy and introduce you to key figures in its history. You’ll then visit Loseling College (or an equivalent) to see how monks study and live — even stepping inside their dormitories to understand their daily routines.
In the afternoon, continue to Sera Monastery, another of Tibet’s “great three” Gelug monasteries. Witness the famous monk debates (15:00–17:00, Monday to Saturday), a unique and lively practice that sharpens their understanding of Buddhist teachings. End the day with a welcome dinner alongside your group.

Day 3
Today’s highlights take you through Lhasa’s most iconic spiritual landmarks.
After breakfast, visit the Potala Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and symbol of Tibet. Enjoy panoramic views over the old town and explore the palace halls filled with history — from the gilded stupas of past Dalai Lamas to the meditation cave of Tibet’s 33rd great king.
At the foot of the palace, stop at Longwangtan Park for a fresh perspective and a chance to join local Tibetan folk activities.
In the afternoon, visit the Jokhang Temple, the spiritual heart of Tibetan Buddhism, where you’ll see the precious statue of Buddha Sakyamuni at age twelve and pilgrims prostrating outside. Then walk along Barkhor Street, joining locals on their kora around the temple and exploring the old market. Wrap up your day with a visit to a local Tibetan teahouse, sipping sweet tea as your guide shares stories of local life and culture.

Day 4
Start your overland adventure from Lhasa to Shigatse, passing through breathtaking lakes, glaciers, and Tibetan villages. Drive over Gampala Pass (4790m) for your first glimpse of Yamdrok Lake — a turquoise jewel surrounded by snow-capped mountains. On clear days, you can see Mount Nyenchen Khangsar, the highest peak near Lhasa. Explore several viewpoints along the lakeshore, and at the far end, visit a local family for lunch in their village home. Continue to the Karola Glacier, Tibet’s largest, where the ice tongue stretches down the mountainside — a dramatic sight against the deep blue sky. Stop at Simila Pass to hang prayer flags and wish for peace and good health. After a short visit in Gyantse, continue to Shigatse, passing barley fields and farmlands glowing green in summer or golden in autumn. Check into your hotel and rest for tomorrow’s journey to Mount Everest.

Day 5
Today’s journey brings you face-to-face with the Himalayas and the mighty Everest.
After breakfast, travel through Gyatsola Pass (5280m) where you’ll glimpse Everest for the first time, rising behind the mountain range like a budding lotus. Enter the Mount Everest National Nature Reserve and reach Gawula Pass (5198m) for a panoramic view of the five highest Himalayan peaks — your second view of Everest.
Drive along the scenic zigzag road to Everest Base Camp, watching the peak grow larger with every turn. By the time you arrive, Everest’s white pyramid stands right before you — your third view. As the sun sets, the mountain glows gold — your fourth. And when night falls, the Milky Way stretches above the snowy peak — your fifth and final unforgettable sight.

Day 6
This morning, before leaving the base camp, visit Rongbuk Monastery (5154m), the world’s highest monastery, where monks and nuns live side by side.
Then travel back toward Shigatse via Dinggye, following a different Himalayan route. Stop at Dinggye Xilin Viewpoint for sweeping views of Everest’s eastern slope and Mount Lhotse, the world’s fourth-highest peak. The vast wetlands at the mountain’s foot add to the magic of the scene.
Make a brief stop in the Sakya, known for its unique architecture, and stroll around the ancient town.
On arrival in Shigatse, enjoy a Tibetan song and dance evening at a local Langma Hall, celebrating the success of your Everest journey with dinner and your travel companions.

Day 7
Today’s drive takes you across the Northern Tibetan Grassland toward Serling Tso, the largest lake in Tibet. In the morning, drive across the vast Qiangtang Plateau. The open grasslands stretch endlessly, dotted with yaks, sheep, and — if you’re lucky — wild Tibetan antelopes running freely under the blue sky. Along the way, stop at a natural hot spring to enjoy its soothing warmth before continuing your journey through wide plains framed by distant snow-capped peaks. By afternoon, reach the tranquil Serling Tso Lake, a shimmering blue expanse surrounded by rolling hills and open space that seems to go on forever. Standing on its shore at over 4,700m feels like looking out across the sky itself. Continue onward to Bange County for the night.

Day 8
After breakfast, travel through the northern grassland toward Namtso Lake, one of Tibet’s most sacred sites. Along the way, you’ll see yaks grazing and antelopes running freely across the plain. Pass by Bamucuo Lake, crystal-clear like a fairy’s tear, before reaching the north shore of Namtso Lake .Here stands the famous Holy Elephant Gate — a natural stone arch shaped like a giant elephant dipping its trunk into the turquoise water. Locals regard it as a sacred place, and you might meet pilgrims walking their kora around it. Admire the breathtaking view of the snow-capped mountains, Namtso Lake, and Holy Elephant Gate against the blue sky before continuing to Damxung.

Day 9
This morning, begin your drive back to Lhasa, about three hours on the expressway.On arrival, unwind with a Tibetan medical spa, the perfect way to relax after your long journey. The rest of the day is free — stroll around Barkhor Street for some last-minute shopping or enjoy a quiet tea with a view of the Potala Palace. End the day with a farewell dinner shared with your group. Overnight in Lhasa.

Day 10
Today marks the official end of your Tibet journey, and we will be there to accompany you to the airport or train station. We're grateful for the wonderful time you've spent with us in Tibet and wish you a safe journey ahead! *Free airport drop-off shuttles depart from the hotel at 06:30, 08:00, and 12:00 (about 1 hour drive to the airport). If these times don’t fit your schedule, a private transfer can be arranged for ~400 RMB.

Cancellation Fee
- Between booking and 15 days prior to departure: 500rmb
- Between 14 and 5 days prior to departure: 2000rmb
- Between 4 and 1 days prior to departure: 50% of the price
- On departure day or no-show: 100% of the price
Cancellation Policy
If the weather is terrible and represents a risk to people's safety, or if there is any government restriction we would cancel the trip and refund the deposit. Note that we are NOT responsible for flight cancellation fees. This would need to be dealt with the airline company directly.
Important Notes
- If the permit is not approved or if there are some changes of regulations from the government and the trip cannot happen, the trip prepayment will be fully refunded (we do not cover flights/train ticket cancellation fees).
