🏜 Lhasa - You will visit all of Lhasa major sites (Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Street, Drepung, and Sera monastery)

⛰ Everest Base Camp - You will spend one night at EBC! From there, you will have the best view of Mt. Everest, the highest mountain in the world!


🏞 Yamdrok Lake - It is a freshwater lake in Tibet, also one of the three largest sacred lakes in Tibet. The lake is surrounded by many snow-capped mountains and is fed by numerous small streams.


💮 Shigatse - It sits in the plain at the confluence of the Yarlong Tsangpo and Nyangchu Rivers, where Tibet's most fertile land is to be found.


Don’t worry, we take care of all the paperwork for the Tibet permit!

(Please note that we are currently not habilitated to apply for diplomatic and service passport/visa holders)

⚠️  Need to have been in China for min 90 days when applying for the permit, need to have the green health code, green arrow code without * on it.

✈️ In general, under the covid uncertainty, we would like to remind everyone to book flight tickets that are fully refundable or with a low cancellation fee as we do not cover these any under circumstances. 


Meeting Point and Drop-off Point:  Lhasa, Tibet.


Day 1- Arrive in Lhasa (3600m)

Arrive in Lhasa and check-in at the hotel. 


After the check-in,  you can take a rest and get acclimatized to the high altitude. If you feel like going out, then you can walk to Potala Square and get amazing photos of the Potala Palace and its surroundings.


Stay overnight in Lhasa (3* hotel)

Day 2- Visit Lhasa, Potala Palace & Jokhang Temple

Visit Potala Palace, the winter palace of the Dalai Lama. We will have the chance to see the Stupas Tombs of the past Dalai Lamas.


Visit Jokhang temple which was founded in the 7th century to promote the Buddhist religion. Inside we can see the statue of Buddha Sakyamuni (the most venerated object in Tibet Buddhism). Walk around Barkhor street where we can kora (circling the Barkor street) locals and watch pilgrims making prostration.


A welcome dinner will be arranged in a local restaurant for the group.


Stay overnight in Lhasa (3* hotel)

Day 3- Visit Lhasa, Drepung & Sera monastery

We will visit Drepung monastery, which is one of the “Great Three” Gelug Monasteries of Tibet. You can visit the biggest monastery kitchen inside the monastery and enjoy the Buddhist Sculpture Carving workshop near Drepung.


In the afternoon, we will visit Sera Monastery which is another one of the “Great Three” Gelug Monasteries of Tibet. One of the hottest attractions is Monks debating at around 3 - 5 in the afternoon.

Day 4- Lhasa to Shigatse via Gyantse 370 km. Yamdrok Lake & Karola Glacier

In the morning, we will drive from Lhasa to Shigatse. 


On the way, we are driving over the Gampala pass (4790m), and stop to have a glimpse of Yamdrok lake (4400m). In the distance, you can have a spectacular view of Holy Mount Nyenchen Khangsar (7191m), and later on of the Korola Glacier.


You will then arrive in Gyantse and visit the famous Pelkor Monastery and Gyantse Kumbum and enjoy the view of Gyangtse Fortress. 


After one and a half hours driving, you will arrive in Shigatse, which is the second-largest city in Tibet.


Stay overnight in Shigatse (3* hotel)

Day 5- Shigatse to Rongpuk 340km. Everest Base Camp

In the morning, you will leave Shigatse and drive to Lhatse, a small town where you can have lunch. After that passing Tsola Pass and Gyatsola Pass, you will reach Mt. Everest National Nature Reserve.


Once at Everest Base Camp and if time and weather allow, you will wait there and see the amazing sunset at Everest peak.


Stay overnight (humble accommodation, dorm or tent house at Rongbuk).

Day 6- EBC to Shigatse 340km

In the morning, you can see the sunrise of Everest Peak at the lodging area-if the weather allows.


Then you will visit the Rongbuk Monastery- the unique highest monastery with nuns and monks living together.


After that, you will head back to Shigatse. Stay overnight in Shigatse (3* hotel).

Day 7- Shigatse to Lhasa 270km

Today, you will visit Tashi Lunpo Monastery of Gelug Sect, the seat of the Panchen Lama, built in 1447. The Monstery is the host of some magnificent statues and tumb of the Panchen Lamas. After that, we will drive back to Lhasa following Yalong Valley.

You can stand on the viewing platform and view the vast Yalong riverbed. 

Stay overnight in Lhasa (3* hotel).

Day 8- Depart from Lhasa

Today, you may leave Lhasa at any convenient time. 


Back home sweet home, head full of wonderful memories!

  • Guide: English-speaking Tibetan local tour guide

  • Accommodation x7:

    • 6 nights in 3* hotels, shared room for 2 persons

    • 1 night in humble accommodation near Rongbuk Monastery, dorm-style

  • Meals:

    • Breakfasts x6 (day 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8

    • Dinner x1 (usually on day 2)

  • Entrance ticket fees for all tourist sites listed in the itinerary

  • Oxygen: Oxygen bottle provided during the tour if necessary


*Price is based on shared room occupancy, please let us know your sharing preferences upon signing up. If you’re a solo traveler or don’t have another person to share the room with, M2adventure will do its best to help find a roommate whenever possible but if no one is available to share, please note that you will have to take the single room supplement (see price below). Thank you for your understanding.

Safety policy:

By signing up for a trip you ensure to provide travel history transparency and certify to inform us if you have been to any medium or high-risk area (including abroad) in the past 90 days.

Please make sure to prepare your Green Health QR Code as well as a face mask 😷 (especially for the bus drive)

If you have any symptoms such as fever, coughing, or other illness prior to the trip, please inform us right away.

Cancellation policy:

- Between booking and 15 days prior to departure: 250rmb 

- Between 15 and 5 days prior to departure: 2000rmb

- Between 4 and 1 day(s) prior to departure: 50% of the price

- On departure day or no-show: 100% of the price


Cancellation Policy // corona virus

If the weather is really bad and represents a risk for people's safety, or there is any government restriction (due to coronavirus for example) we could cancel the trip up to 1 day in advance. The deposit would be fully refunded. Note that we are NOT responsible for flight cancellation fees. This would need to be dealt with by the airline company directly. 


All forms of outdoor recreation (including hiking) have a higher level of risk than most ordinary activities.

By participating in M2adventure's hike, you acknowledge and accept the responsibility for making your own determinations as to the suitability of the activity and for their own safety, conduct, and well-being and agree to participate solely at your own risk.

M2adventure, its organizer & hike leaders will not be held responsible for any loss or injury which you may sustain as a result of your participation in any of these activities.
